Ascent Trio
Ascent Trio strives to bring their jazz to new frontiers. Featuring Tonga Ross-Ma'u (guitar/piano), Andrew Michel (bass), and Charlie Weller (drums), these musicians came together with their shared vision to push further beyond their own limits and dig deeper into different facades of musical expression. They mainly focus on creating original material and work with pieces from their contemporaries as a source of inspiration, but also attempt to breathe new life into traditional repertoire through modern arrangements. Every performance is a chance for this group to explore into unfamiliar territory, weaving through moments of integrated success and unexpected obstacles.
