Tonga's musical upbringing is riddled with influential mentors from school and from local and international music communities. He holds education in high regard and is passionate about sharing the history, culture, and performance of music for the community. He thinks it is important to engage his audience and give them a glance into the inner workings of what goes on when musicians perform, how/what they communicate musically, how they improvise over songs, and how they interpret material. By working together with his audience Tonga hopes to inspire the community to continue to explore deeper into the music on their own and thus take interest in supporting the music scene.
